Mutual-Aid

Community care, shared resources, and neighbours supporting neighbours.

At Grounded, mutual aid isn’t a program — it’s a practice. It’s the belief that when the community takes care of itself, everyone feels safer, more supported, and more connected. Our Mutual Aid initiatives are here for anyone who needs them, and they’re sustained entirely by the generosity, creativity, and heart of the people who walk through our doors.

Community Pantry & Needs Cabinet

A take-what-you-need, leave-what-you-can pantry open to anyone in Bowmanville. It’s stocked with food, hygiene products, household basics, and seasonal essentials — all provided through community donations. There’s no paperwork, no screening, and no questions asked.

How to use it:

🛒 If you need something: Come during store hours and take what you need. Truly.

💛 If you want to contribute: Drop off items, order from our wishlist, or donate funds. Every bit helps a neighbour directly. Our pantry exists because the community keeps it alive — and because everyone deserves access to care without shame.

HOURS:

Mon-Tues: 10am-3pm

Wed-Fri: 10am-6pm

Sat: 10am-4pm

Ways to Support Mutual Aid

There are so many beautiful ways to support Grounded and The One in Five Project—whether you have time, resources, or a skill to share. Every contribution helps us build a more connected, caring community.

🥫 Donate to the Community Pantry & Needs Cabinet: Help us keep the shelves stocked with food, hygiene items, and everyday essentials.

💛 Contribute to The One in Five Project: Your donation supports free and low-cost mental health care, mutual aid, and community support.

🎁 Become a Sponsor: Fund a workshop, supply drive, or help cover ongoing costs to keep this space accessible for everyone.

🛍️ Become a Vendor: Sell your goods in our curated storefront and join a values-aligned maker community.

🧑‍🏫 Host a Workshop or Event: Bring your ideas, talents, or offerings to the space and share them with others.

🙌 Volunteer Your Time: Help with events, restocking the pantry, organizing donations, cleaning, or supporting kid-friendly activities. Every hand helps.

However you choose to show up — giving, receiving, or both — you’re helping build something that matters. Thank you for being here, and for being part of a community that chooses care over everything else.
