About Us
We’re Jon and Lisa Hicks—a family, a team, and two people passionate about creating meaningful change. As entrepreneurs, advocates, and activists, we’ve built our lives around the belief that the world can be better when we take care of each other.
Our work is rooted in values that matter to us: compassion, equity, and community. We don’t just talk about change—we roll up our sleeves and make it happen, whether it’s creating accessible mental health resources, championing mutual aid, or challenging outdated systems that no longer serve the people who need them most.
As parents and partners, we know firsthand the importance of building something sustainable—not just for ourselves, but for the next generation. Every step we take is a step toward a future where kindness, creativity, and connection guide the way.
This isn’t just a business to us; it’s personal. It’s about making sure no one is left behind, creating spaces where people feel seen and supported, and doing the hard work to make it all possible.
We’re glad you’re here—whether you’re looking for tools to care for yourself or ways to build a stronger, more connected community. Welcome to what we’re building together.

WHAT WE DO
Our Mission
At The One in Five Project, we believe that mental health care should be a right, not a privilege. Born from the understanding that one in five people will experience mental health challenges in their lifetime, we’re on a mission to bridge the gap between need and access.
Our project is community-led and driven by a simple yet powerful vision: to create a world where everyone, regardless of income or circumstance, can access the mental health care they deserve. We know the system isn’t built for everyone—especially marginalized communities—so we’re reimagining it together.
By prioritizing mutual aid, we’ve designed a model that isn’t about profit—it’s about people. Every purchase you make through The One in Five Project directly funds accessible services, community-driven initiatives, and resources for those who need them most.
But we don’t stop there. At our core, we believe in reshaping mental health care with transparency, collaboration, and compassion. Mistakes are part of being human, and we’re here to create a space where needs are met openly, support is mutual, and change is built together.
Join us as we rewrite the story of mental health care—one person, one community, one connection at a time. Together, we’re proving that real change starts when we care for each other.
